The Sorel-Tracy region is made up of the towns of Sorel-Tracy, Sainte-Anne-de-Sorel, and St-Joseph-de-Sorel with a population of 38,507 (statistics Canada 2006). It is Quebec's steel town. Located on the St-Lawrence seaway, it has an international sea port and is linked to Montreal via autoroute 30 for a distance of about 40 miles.
The area has six marinas for pleasure boats and lodgings in motels and B&B's are easy to find. Camping is also available. There are three golf courses along with numerous recreational and cultural areas to visit.
